As a clinical nurse consultant at Honiara’s National Referral Hospital (NRH), Kristalee is determined to improve the quality of care and health outcomes for emergency patients in Solomon Islands. Kristalee helped develop a new patient triaging system, now being implemented in hospitals throughout the country; and updated clinical workplace standard operating procedures for the NRH emergency department. She now hopes to standardise patient handover procedures between hospital and ambulance staff, and to roll these out around the Solomon Islands.

On completion of her studies, Kristalee hopes to empower emerging clinical leaders in both nursing and medicine to improve service delivery. With her knowledge in acute care nursing and her vast clinical experience, Kristalee will continue networking with multidisciplinary teams in hospitals to strengthen and improve patient clinical outcomes.
